Annual Charity Lacrosse Tournament to benefit Multiple Sclerosis and American Cancer Societies
The Glastonbury Lacrosse Tournament staff has a deal for you! Where can you make a very worthwhile donation to two charities at the same time you’re watching some of the highest caliber lacrosse in the region - just by having a hot dog and soda? Try the Glastonbury High School complex any time during the day over the weekend of July 19/20, 2003, where you will find 30 teams of top talent lacrosse players battling it out for awards and bragging rights for this year’s event. By late Sunday afternoon, over 80 games will have been played.
The competition is divided into three very competitive divisions, comprised of teams from all over the Eastern United States. This event is a “players’ tournament,” many groups formed around some of the top collegiate and post -graduate players around. These guys play for the love of the game, and you won’t find lacrosse of this caliber short of the professional ranks.
And, to make it even better, admission is absolutely FREE! The main proceeds are generated from the teams’ entry fees, and the rest from sponsors and refreshment sales. So all you need to do is show up, watch the play and, of course, stop by the refreshment tent for a burger or a hot dog and a drink. All proceeds go to the Multiple Sclerosis and American Cancer Societies, so be generous and come hungry!
